What To Know Before Your Appointment

Skin Exam Patients

  1. Bring a list of current medications and all known drug allergies.
  2. Have copies of previous dermatology biopsy and pathology reports if applicable.
  3. Bring insurance information, referral if needed and your copayment.

Cosmetic Consult

  1. Bring a list of current medications and all known drug allergies.
  2. If you have had previous cosmetic procedures bring a list of the products that you have had injected or used.
  3. Bring a photo of yourself 10 and 20 years ago.
  4. Have an idea of what bothers you and what you wish to improve.
  5. In anticipation of further treatment at your consult appointment, please stop all aspirin, Nsaids (ibuprofen, Aleve), and aspirin containing products one week prior to the appointment (unless specifically prescribed by your PCP or cardiologist).
  6. Stop alcohol use 3 days prior to the appointment.

Surgical Appointment

  1. Stop all aspirin, aspirin containing products, and or NSAID’s (advil, motrin, aleve, or ibuprofen) 10 days prior to your surgical appointment.  Check with your PCP or cardiologist for approval in stopping aspirin or any other blood thinning product.
  2. Stop alcohol use 2 days prior to your appointment.
  3. Bring a list of current medications and all known drug allergies.
  4. Notify staff if you have a pacemaker or defibrillator.
  5. If you have had a joint replacement within the past two years, check with your PCP or orthopedic surgeon whether you need antibiotics prior to the procedure.
  6. If you have a heart valve defect or have had a valve replacement check with your doctor whether preoperative antibiotics are needed.

Take preoperative antibiotics one hour prior to your appointment.
